The AquaTex CT is a cooling tower blowdown reclamation system consisting of prefiltration: sand filter, followed by Tubular Backwashable Filtration, and a Nanofiltration membrane process. The prefiltration system will remove suspended solids down to five microns. At this stage of the process, contaminants and dirt are removed. The active treatment chemicals stay in the water. Once the water passes through the nano membranes the following will be removed:

  • 85% of the total dissolved solids (TDS) 95% of the hardness
  • 98% of the dissolved organics 65% of the salts
  • WRI patented this process to reclaim cooling tower blowdown waste water (US patent #4,981,594)

It then becomes a water source for the cooling towers. The recovery rate will range between 60% to 80 % of the total amount of water initially received from the Tower. The recovery rate varies depending on how much TDS is in the blowdown.
