Installation Report

The Sheraton Palace Hotel is one of the finest properties in the San Francisco market and considered by many to be one of the worlds finest hotels. The Palace elected to install a spiral wound membrane reclamation system from WRI nearly four years ago. The unit had performed well and recycled in excess of twenty million gallons of water in its four years of operation. At the time the unit needed filter repalcement the Palace elected to upgrade the system to the tubular backwashable filtration currently utilized by WRI reclamation systems.

The TEA unit was disconnected and removed from its location on that afternoon and the Ecoheat Model 80 was positioned for inspection. After inspection and approval by the engineering staff on the morning of April 3rd, WRI crews began the plumbing and anchoring of the unit. The unit was installed and ready for testing by Saturday, April 4, at 1 PM. The unit was tested for several hours that afternoon and left in the off-line position.

On Sunday morning, April 5, the unit was placed on line with WRI crews supervising initial operation. WRI began training MLE engineering employees on system operation at that time. The unit was left on line throughout the afternoon and evening with final acceptance and training completed on the morning of April 6, 1998. The unit featured twin feed systems for the washer extractor hot water system and a blended feed system for the tunnel washers with control panel selection of tunnel feed values. WRI crews departed Balitimore Washington Regional Airport on the afternoon of Monday, April 6, 1998. The unit had produced over 50,000 gallons of reclamation water during its initial run on Sunday and Monday morning.
